Tuning Twin Spark Again (Alfa 147 2.0TS GF-937AB Timing Belt Replacement)

6/7/2019 By ITS Leave a Comment

Just four years ago, the Alfa 147 2.0TS’s owner was requested to change the timing belt when mileage 100,000 kilometers.

I'm sorry to have you come to the store for the timing belt exchange from a very far away.

"Part 2" For Tuning Alfa Romeo Twin Spark (Alfa 147 GF-937AB Timing Belt Replacement)
"Final" For Tunig Alfa Romeo Twio Spark(Alfa 147 937AB Timing Belt Replacement)

This is the third time that the timing belt has been changed four years ago. When I checked whether the valve timing adjustment to the previous operator was appropriate, I was able to confirm the deviation of one frame with the timing belt.

Of course, I don't think it was intentional.Alfa Romeo's engine is assembled while interpreting the procedure. It was a state that did not come out of the condition that I sometimes see.

This may be due to the removal of the intake side sprocket with a large adjustment fee to replace the water pump and not working on it as per the procedure.

In fact, twin spark water pumps have gaps that can be removed without leaving the IN-side sprocket.

If the procedure is not well interpreted, it is safer not to touch the valve timing at the time of the new car.The reason is that the engine which was a big crazy in twin spark which I kept in the first timing belt exchange has not been seen until now.

And this time, there was a request to change the timing belt for the fourth time.

Last time, it was the valve timing that I adjusted, but what happens when I wear a new belt?

MY2002 GF-937AB 2.0TS selespeed mileage 147,000km

As usual, the most adapted to the dead point on the cylinder compression

Wearing of special tools (SST cam tools, templates) on the intake side

And the exhaust side.

Both were almost near the center of play.

A new timing belt is attached to fine-tune the tension of the tensioner while also fine-tuning the valve timing.

The plug cord that was replaced with an external product last time, the side of no. 3 and 4 attached to the main plug was marked with deterioration and high voltage leakage. There must have been no twin spark-likeness to turn energetically in this.

We rushed to get genuine parts, but unfortunately there was not one plug cord in Japan.

I'll replace only the main code of no. 3 and 4 with severe pain and give it to you.

The genuine BOSCH plug cord comes with a metal sleeve. It is safe not to choose the exchange for an external product unless there is a special reason.

And finally, the headlight unit that the supply is finished. With lenses that have been cloudy over the years, if the next continuous inspection is not received, it seems to have been given a regrettable notification by a sales company near the customer.

Polishing with a special combine and towel buff will restore you to a level above the level that does not fail the continuous inspection.

Thank you for always coming from a really far place. We are now worried about the supply of parts, but please feel free to contact us if there is anything we can do to help you again.
