The turbine blow was suddenly.
After the 12-month inspection, i received a notice that a large amount of white smoke suddenly came out from exhaust immediately after delivery.
MY2000 GF-HN11S F6A Turbo 5MT Mileage 128,000km
At the time of check-in, I felt a little turbocharger noise, but the engine accelerated cleanly, and even if I was supercharged, I could not see the discharge of white smoke, and there was no significant decrease in engine oil, so I gave it to them as they were.
I am keenly aware of the difficulty of predicting a failure.
If you remove the compressor side duct of the turbocharger and look inside, you can see how the nut at the center of the shaft came off and was rampaging inside.
The gasket on the connected inlet duct was missing.I think this is probably inappropriate at the time of timing belt replacement done elsewhere.
The beautiful three-dimensional streamline shape of the compressor wheel was shaved unreafully. And there was a big rattle on the axis.
By the way, I have no good memories of Rebuilt turbocharger.Such as noise generation after mounting and white smoke discharge after running for a while.
Because the turbocharger is a precise machine, I thought that rebuilding was difficult.I hope the level of the recent rebuilt has improved.
This time I select a good used turbo in good condition and wear it.
The turbocharger is located at the back after removing the front bumper.
The most difficult part is the removal of bolts corroded by snow melting agents. This time it was a heat-shielding plate mounting bolt on the exhaust manifold.
The top of the bolt is scraped off with a belt sander to make a female screw.Since you want to finish the work with as little decomposition as possible, carefully drill the bottom hole with your own stacky drill bit and angle air drill.
The spiral tap entered cleanly, and the screw correction was completed safely.
The failed turbine was successfully removed.
Parts around the turbine.
Oil tubes and connecting hoses are new to the concern of clogging.
After the assembly is completed, the turbines of Ishikawajima Harima Heavy Industries (IHI) make a smooth supercharge. In March next year, he will return to Kyoto City after using it in the snow melting area.I hope you will continue to do so.
